34-year-old Diego Dominguez Jr. was sentenced to life in prison Friday for the 2014 shooting death of 45-year-old Dean Vedol Sena outside a convenience store.
Dominguez had entered Brothers Liquor in Rancho Cucamonga, pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the one of the clerks. One of the clerks complied, but a second clerk ran outside and notified Sena, who was working as a security guard. When Sena entered the store, Dominguez shot him multiple times.
Before fleeing the scene, the defendant shot the victim again as he laid on the ground begging for his life. Dominguez was eventually apprehended by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies.
This case was prosecuted by Deputy DA Kent Williams and the West Valley Division Support Staff.
