Helendale Man Convicted of Torture and Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Congratulations to Deputy District Attorney Maggie Yang from the Desert Division for her recent conviction in the case of Christopher Frank of Helendale.

The 27-year-old defendant came home and suspected his 19-year-old girlfriend of cheating on him and then started punching her multiple times in the face, beating her with a plastic shoe horn, and then dragging her up and down the hallway by her hair.

After beating her with a shotgun, he locked the victim in the attic of the house and the trunk of a car. The jury found the defendant guilty of Torture, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with use of a firearm, Corporal injury to a Cohabitant with use of a firearm and infliction of great bodily injury, Criminal Threats, False Imprisonment, and Possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon.

Frank faces 24 years to life in state prison when he is sentenced tomorrow.
